1. Service Delivery
The 7 Geeks offers professional IT services, including both on-site visits and remote technical support. The following terms apply to our service delivery:
- Appointments & Availability: Services are scheduled by appointment. Bookings can be made via our website, email, or telephone.
- Service Scope: Our technicians will assess your technical requirements and provide an estimate of the time, scope, or parts required. Additional work discovered during the service will be discussed and requires your approval before commencement.
- Remote Access: For remote support, you must grant our technicians secure access to your system. You have the right to terminate the remote session at any time.
2. Payment and Fees
- Rates: All service fees are based on our current rates, which will be communicated and agreed upon during the booking process or prior to service commencement.
- Payment Methods: We accept multiple payment methods, including credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and cash.
- Hardware & Software Costs: The cost of any required replacement parts, hardware components, or software licenses is external to the service labor fee and will be invoiced separately upon your approval.
- Late Payments: We reserve the right to suspend further services or retain equipment until outstanding invoices are settled in full.
3. Cancellation and Bookings
- Notice Period: If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment (especially for on-site visits), please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a cancellation or call-out fee.
- Refunds: Service fees are non-refundable once the work has been approved and completed. If a service is incomplete or unsatisfactory, please notify us immediately so we can remedy the issue in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
4. Data Loss and Backups
Critical Customer Notice: The 7 Geeks takes every precaution when handling your devices, but technical repairs and software troubleshooting carry inherent risks of data loss. The 7 Geeks is not responsible or liable for any data loss, corruption, or software errors that occur during the provision of our services. It is entirely the customer's responsibility to ensure all important data, files, and software are fully backed up prior to our technician beginning any work.
5. Limitation of Liability
While The 7 Geeks strives to deliver high-quality, permanent solutions, some technical issues stem from underlying hardware degradation, faulty software, or unforeseen system complexities. To the extent permitted by law, The 7 Geeks' liability for any fault, omission, or failure to resolve an issue is limited to re-performing the service or providing a refund for the specific service fee paid.
6. Customer Responsibilities
To ensure effective service, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information regarding your devices, passwords, and the nature of the technical issues.
- Ensure an adult (aged 18 or over) is present for the entire duration of any scheduled on-site service at your home or business premises.
- Provide a safe working environment for our on-site technicians.
7. Privacy and Security
Your privacy is important to us. Any personal details, network credentials, or business information accessed during bookings or service delivery are strictly managed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and Australian Privacy Principles.
